Hey everyone, just getting packed up to go play a set at Fuel tonight, and wanted to shoot out a last-minute invitation to come spend part of your Friday night with us.

Kicking off the evening at 9:30 will be Portland band Dorado. We’ll be batting second, and our good friends from The Screaming Starts will be the closer for the evening.

Tin Shed will be returning to Fuel May 8th, joining Nine-N-Out for a great night of music and fun.

The music is set to start at 9:30, and tickets will be $5 at the door.

Two out of Three Ain’t Bad

If you saw us play at the Haiti Benefit showcase you may have noticed that something was missing. With Charles out with the flu, we decided to go ahead with an impromptu Eleuke/Drum duo. As a last minute add, we brought in a cowbell player, to fill out the band.

One John Mayer, One Beatles and one Shed song later, it was over, bizarre, but fun!

From the looks of it, lots of cash was raised for the relief effort in Haiti. Thanks for everyone who came out to show their support.

Showbox SoDo Tonight

We’re all fired up to play the show tonight at Showbox SoDo, just south of Safeco Field in the SoDo district. The first band goes on at 9 PM, and tickets are $11 at the door.

Also playing tonight will be The Screaming Starts, Custom and Orbiting Giants.

One More Studio Session Down

We had another great weekend over at Cays Productions. We now have the tracks for 9 songs finished. We also got to hear an early mix of Phoenix, and it’s already sounding great. I’m excited to hear what our talented mixing engineer Jeremy, does with the sound.

Also, if you happen to be over in Sequim, we recommend Gabbys Java. More than just a drive-thru coffee stand, they have a full menu, and great pastries!

Showbox SoDo Lounge

Haiti Benefit Showcase

We will be taking part in the Eastside “Showcase For Haiti” Benefit concert at the variety show at the Meydenbauer Center on Sunday, February 21st. The entire event is scheduled to last 2 hours, featuring a wide variety of entertainers. Proceeds will go to the relief effort in Haiti. We will performing two or three songs that night.

Further details on this event will be posted as we get them. After initially being planned for a smaller venue, the organizers have moved to a location that can seat 1200. Please be in one of those seats. The event starts with a silent auction at 6-7PM, and then the 2-hour show from 7-9. Please come, and help get food and shelter to Haiti, and have some fun.

Studio Session

We’ll be recording three more songs over at Cays Productions in Sequim, Washington this weekend. We’ll be laying down tracks for “Bearded Lady”, “Interstate 90″, and “Phoenix”.

After this weekend, we’ll be halfway to completing our debut album, can’t wait to share it with everyone.

You may have also noticed the promotion over on the right column. That’s right, we’ll be playing Showbox SoDo again in February! As soon as details and pre-sale tickets become available, we’ll let you know.

Tin Shed – Year 1

It’s been a pretty good year for Tin Shed. We formed, practiced, practiced some more, played an open mic, and practiced. Then we practiced, put together our first show, practiced, played another show, practiced, and practiced. After practice, we practiced, played two more shows, practiced, and laid down 3 tracks in the studio. Finally, more practice, another open mic to try out some new songs, and practice.

Thanks to everybody who attended our shows, and who encouraged us through year one. Special thanks to Eden at Evolution studios, who runs the best practice facility I’ve ever used. Sure, it’s also the only one I’ve ever used, but the place rocks. And thanks to Kai and Charles for letting me join their little club.

At the start of the year, I’d never played drums in a band. Now, I’ve played four shows, including one at the legendary Seattle ShowBox. And we’re going to continue work on our first album, with three songs already tracked. Year 1 was awesome, and year two should be even better.

See you in 2010, and keep rocking!
